Fall in Port O’Connor

We had a great summer, and enjoyed meeting a lot of first time visitors to Port O’Connor. From June to August we had approximately 800 vacation rentals. The summer is by far our busiest season, however, Fall is a wonderful time to visit our community and do some fishing.

Cooler temperatures have arrived with the recent ‘cold’ fronts and the transition from Summer Fishing to Fall Fishing is ON with the cooler water in our shallow Bays and Lakes! When asked to sum up fishing Port O’Connor in the Fall, local fishing guide, Captain Stephen Boriskie, said “The slow Trout bite we had in July and August is about gone and a stronger more consistent catch of these speckled beauties has arrived. The Redfish were very good in those months and have gotten even better now if you are willing to bounce around and try all of your favorite spots while out in some really nice weather at times. Reefs have been giving up good numbers and size of Black Drum allowing the baited angler opportunities to bar-b-que some tasty half-shell! I have also witnessed a few more Flounder on the end of the line and these flatties are showing up both healthy and with some size.” So, make plans to fish this Fall, and if you need a fishing guide, please let us know, there are many wonderful local guides right here in Port O’Connor.

We invite you to check out our vacation rentals and plan a Fall trip to Port O’Connor. If you need assistance choosing a rental, please feel free to contact us at 866-844-7388, and we hope to see you soon.
