Our little town of Port O’Connor is known for its resiliency and is now making efforts to restore normal business operations.
First, I want to assure you that your Tigrett Rental Reservation is fully guaranteed. Tigrett Vacation Rentals will honor your current rental (so long as the property is ready), a reschedule, or a cancel.
Now onto Harvey: the eye-wall probably missed Port O’Connor by about 40 miles; the damage our town experienced was a minimal surge tide of less than 3 feet; a lot of rain but all flooding receded; wind damage included minimal roof and siding damage, fallen fences and a few uprooted trees. In general, older structures experienced most of the damage, especially the older boat stalls. We did experience wind damage to the electrical power grid which caused all of Port O’Connor to be without power for 4 days.
Restoration Efforts: POC now has water and sewer totally restored (Boil Potable Water Restriction); power outages are being addressed by numerous Victoria Electric Coop and contractor crews; cellular reception is working with some minor issues; no debris blocking any streets in POC or roadways to POC; ICW looks brackish.
Store Openings: Speedy Stop, Hurricane Junction, Docks, the Fishing Center and others are in the works.
